let the games begin! This year, Silent Custom Cyclery will be hosting the Annual Silent Summer Games beginning in June. Here’s just a few of the rides that are planned…
Spring Skate Park Jam Our first freestyle park jam of the season! Sponsored by Kink BMX, Cinema, and Mission BMX components! Trick contest, high jump and our famous foot-down throw-down contest. All rigs are welcome to participate for the trick competition, but you must be on a bike for Foot-down (we will have loaners available). Spring Mud Run This is an endurance race through a very muddy section of our mountain (actual location and course TBD). We got so much snow this year, it is inevitable to ride in the mud, so this year we have an event just for it! Bring your most robust mountain bike and your mud slingin' skills! Free bike wash after the race is over. Spring Surface Creek Klunker Run This is our famous klunker run! We start at the visitor's center parking lot and ride east on Forest Road 121 until Forest Road 125. The klunking part of the ride ends at the Round Corals but after everyone finishes, we ride down the paved road back to town. Bring your old klunkers! Pea Green Pedal Road Tour This ride is put on by Delta Health and is a fundraiser. This year it is taking place at the Pea Green Community Center instead of starting at Confluence Park. RSVP here to be considered for Team Silent. Team members must do this ride on a fixed-gear bicycle and we will cover 75% of your entry fee! Otherwise, registration can be completed at https://runsignup.com/deltahealthfoundationpeagreenpedal RSVP here to sign up under Team Silent! Full Moon Cedaredge Cruise This is a critical mass style ride. Just show up with your bike and be ready to ride it for a couple of hours. There is no route - we're just cruising around. Delta Alley Cat Fixed Gear Race This is checkpoint race for fixed gears only! Checkpoints will be chosen just before the race. There is no course, but you must complete the checkpoints in order or you're DQ'd! First one to complete all checkpoints in order and make it back to the start wins! Mesa Top Trail Mountain Bike Tour This is a ride along the Palisade Plunge Trail going all the way out to the backcountry, down Plunge to Powderhorn Trail, with an option to ride back via Forest Road 105. Cedaredge Orchard & Wine Tour
Check out the scenic countryside around Cedaredge and see the orchards. This is an easy cruise, stopping to sample a few of our local wineries and orchards and then return back around sunset. Must be 21 years old. If there are kids who want to ride, a separate group will be put together for them. Scenic Byway Grand Mesa Hill Climb Challenge This is a supported road tour from shop to top! All paved 20 miles of relentless climbing; 4000 feet of elevation gain. This is a time trial. So far, the best time is 2 hours and 41 minutes. Old Grand Mesa Gravel Tour A 40-mile mix of paved roads, gravel, and double-track, this tour covers some beautiful backcountry on the Grand Mesa. The ride begins at the bike shop in Cedaredge and starts going up Hwy 65 until Old Grand Mesa Road and up to Forest Road 121 and over to Forest Road 125, and back down Surface Creek Road back to town Old Grand Mesa Klunker Run This is our original Klunker Run! Over 3000 feet of bumpy but very fun downhill Klunking! The first stage is the gravel road and the second is a rough double track with lots of rocks! The rest of the ride is a paved section back to the shop. We cannot charge for this event but donations are welcome and accepted when you get your ticket (pay what you want). Cedar Mesa Road Bike Tour This is a mild road ride of 20 miles that comes with amazing views of the Black Canyon and Currant Creek canyons. Some respectable climbs, but a ride you can get done in the morning and still make it in time to have your afternoon BBQ. The precursor to the Tour de Cedaredge. Surface Creek Colors Gravel Tour This is a supported gravel bike tour through the trees as the colors change. If we are lucky, this will be scheduled right when the Aspens turn gold! This is about a 30-40 mile route (exact route to be determined) that goes up Surface Creek Road all the way to the top of the Grand Mesa and back down Old Grand Mesa Road. Not a race, but a tour! Bring your camera - we'll stop often! No charge for this ride, but we welcome and accept donations through our tickets (pay what you want). Gears & Beers Cedaredge Tour This ride is to celebrate local craft and microbrews! Come and sample some beers and push those gears as we take a random night cruise around Cedaredge. No route - we just go where ever together. All bikes are welcome - responsible drunks only and no minors. Harvest Sunset Cedaredge Cruise This is an unorganized cruise around Cedaredge. Meet at the park at 4:20pm - ride begins at 5pm. Bring any bike you like - the weirder the better. This is a slow pace ride, enjoying the colors, the smells of the countryside, and the sunset. This event is free to all, but donations are welcome in the form of buying a ticket (pay what you want). |
